It's no secret that I am so inspired by the 1950's & 1960's and vintage style in general but I know some people (including myself) don't have a huge vintage selection.. that's why I tend to use the vast UK highstreet to my advantage and buy & style with the vintage look in mind. Today's outfit post is an outfit I put together from mainly non-vintage, highstreet pieces but that is inspired by 50's style.
This look is based around this red polka dot body that I bought at Collectif last Summer.. Collectif is an amazing retro brand that makes pieces in the 1950's style, I really love the pieces and although it's quite pricey for me at the moment I always pop in if I see they have a sale and so far I have a few gorgeous statement pieces from them!
I am still living in my Mom jeans, they are so comfortable and easy to style (If you haven't seen my 'mom jeans' styling post click here to see it!) . plus they are perfect for this 'in-between' Spring/Summer weather. I put on my reversible vintage belt (as seen in my last favourites post) to add a bit of 'real vintage' to the outfit & these cute little red shoes from Topshop!
I wore this outfit on a lovely sunny Sunday to meander around markets & vintage shops in my local area (Dalston & Stoke Newington if you're interested!) Sometimes it's so nice to dress up a bit when the sun comes out isn't it?

Hope you liked this post! Do you struggle with vintage shopping? Would you like me to write a post on my favourite places to shop & what I tend to look out for?
I hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend
